Man arrested after dog walker dies and two injured in west London stabbings | UK news

Homicide detectives launched an investigation after a man who was thought to have been walking his dog in front of a house where a fight broke out was stabbed to death.
The 49-year-old man died in an incident in Midhurst Gardens in Uxbridge, west London, in which a man and a child were also stabbed.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Images on social media show a man shot with a stun gun being detained by the police. This was followed by officers yelling at a suspect to drop the knife he was holding and get on the ground.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to a triple stabbing at 5pm on Monday.
It was learned that the arrested person stayed at home and a fight broke out.
Two other men, aged 45 and 14, believed to be father and son, were also stabbed. Police said the old man’s injuries were “life-altering but not life-threatening” while the boy’s injuries were “neither life-threatening nor life-altering.”
Chief Supt Jill Horsfall said: “This was a shocking and senseless act of violence that left one person dead and two others injured. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.”
“The incident has understandably caused concern in the local community; I have deployed multiple police officers to the local area and they will be here to provide reassurance throughout the week as detectives work hard to piece together the circumstances.
“I understand there has been a lot of speculation online following this incident; we ask that you trust us for information and do not share sensitive images.”
Police said the family of the 49-year-old victim had been informed and were being supported by officers.
The Met confirmed the man arrested was an Afghan national.
Government sources said he arrived in the UK in a lorry in 2020. In 2022, he was granted asylum and permission to stay.
The nationalities of the killed man and the two injured men were not specified by police.
Robin Stevens, 50, said she heard sirens Monday evening but didn’t realize what was happening until Tuesday morning. He said: “I grew up on this street, I’ve lived on this street for 50 years and I always knew it was a family-oriented area.”
18-year-old Wisam Salah stated that the three stabbing incidents in which one person died affected the local people and said, “Everyone really panicked.”
