Man arrested after woman stabbed, man ‘deliberately’ run over in Swan Hill

A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman and deliberately running over another man with his car in Victoria’s northwest.
Police allege a dispute broke out outside a property on Murray St in Piangil, near Swan Hill, at around 9pm on Monday evening.
Police said items were set on fire and thrown over the fence during the fight.
It is alleged a man then got into a white four-wheel drive vehicle and deliberately hit another man, crashing into the wall of a property and trapping the other man underneath the vehicle.
“The criminal allegedly got out of the 4WD and stabbed a woman,” the police statement said.
A 47-year-old Piangil woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The seriously injured 61-year-old Piangil man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police allege the attacker left the 4WD on the property and fled the scene.
A short time later, he went to the police station and surrendered, where he was detained to be interrogated by detectives.
No charges were filed.
Police believe the parties involved knew each other.
