Forest travel to the Emirates Stadium to face a red-hot Arsenal who won 3-0 without breaking a sweat. Then the new coach predicts rapid development.
“On Wednesday night we’ll start to see some real principles take hold,” he says. “It won’t last long and I won’t let it last.
“I’m going to make sure we turn this around because we have an incredible opportunity to make an impact this year and I’m not going to let it slip away.”

Forest were selected from the Carabao Cup by Championship team Swansea, who put together a superb fightback to come from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
“We paid a heavy price for this,” says Postecoglou. “We need to improve… but it doesn’t change anything; we understand there are some things we need to work on.”

Big Ange picked up his first point as Forest manager after a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor. However, once again Forest were unable to defend their lead.
“We look like a different team since we played Arsenal seven days ago… I’m disappointed, but at the same time the improvement in our game is the most positive thing for me,” says Postecoglou.

A big night for Forest, who return to European competition for the first time in 30 years and play away against Real Betis in the Europa League.
They took a 2-1 lead before conceding an 85th-minute equalizer from former Manchester United player Antony.

“We are in the results business and ultimately we need to turn our good play into victories, but if we keep playing like this I think it will happen,” says Postecoglou.

To make matters worse, Forest dropped to 17th in the points table.
Postecoglou is doing his best to remain optimistic. “We create more chances than the opponent, we have superiority in every field, but we cannot win,” he insists.

As Postecoglou’s team suffered an embarrassing 3-2 defeat to Danish side FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, Forest fans can be heard chanting “you’re fired in the morning”.
The embattled executive puts on a brave face. “The fans were disappointed,” he says. “They are allowed to have their own opinion on this, and I heard their opinion.

Newcastle showed no mercy towards Postecoglou in the 2-0 win at St James’ Park. Amid growing speculation that Marinakis is ready to use the axe, the manager states that he is ready for the challenge.

“I like a challenge,” he said. “The alternative is I’ll be sitting at home watching the game on TV and I don’t want to do that.
“I want to be in the middle of it. Here I am, and the faith and confidence I had going into the job hasn’t wavered for a moment.”
18 October
Marinakis is seen leaving his seat in the boardroom midway through the second half as Forest lost 3-0 at home to Chelsea.
18 minutes after the end of the match, with Forest falling to 18th and the relegation zone, the club announced that “following a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been suspended from her role as head coach with immediate effect. The club will have no further comment at this time.”
