Man charged with negligent homicide after fight near Horizon

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man who got into a physical confrontation with another man near Horizon this week has been arrested and charged with negligent homicide, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Winter Spring Place for a domestic dispute.

The Sheriff’s Office said an initial investigation revealed a physical fight took place between 23-year-old Jeremiah Nathanial Aguilar and a 37-year-old man.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

On Friday, October 10, a warrant was issued for Aguilar’s arrest for criminally negligent homicide. He was then located at his home and taken into custody and transported to the El Paso County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes unit investigated this incident.
