Paqueta secures exit from West Ham
Flamengo heralded Lucas Paqueta’s return to the club from West Ham as a ‘historic move’.
West Ham reluctantly agreed to sell Paqueta for £36.4 million yesterday after he requested a transfer only to Flamengo. The midfielder went to Brazil last night for a medical check-up.
James Ward-Prowse swaps West Ham’s claret for Burnley’s claret

James Ward-Prowse has also completed his loan move from West Ham to relegation rivals Burnley. The 31-year-old said: ‘It’s a big challenge between now and the end of the season but I’m going to enjoy every moment.’
The Hammers signed Adama Traore from Fulham for £1 million and went on to earn a further £1 million. The 29-year-old player first signed a 6-month contract.

The Palace is preparing to make an offer for Strand Larsen
Crystal Palace have accelerated negotiations for Wolves’ £40 million striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The 25-year-old striker saw Wolves reject a bid worth £39 million, including add-ons, from Leeds United.
Wolves have not yet received a formal offer from Crystal Palace for Larsen but know talks will take place soon. Leeds will also attempt to submit a rival bid but must work within PSR restrictions.
Palace want a striker to replace Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has offers from Nottingham Forest and AC Milan.
They want £40 million to cover the cost of a bid to bring back Strand Larsen to replace Mateta.
Palace want to know if the player will join their project before making their offer official, but talks took place on Wednesday.
Rock-bottom Wolves eye supplements
Wolves have spoken to FC Basel about winger Philip Otele and versatile defender Jonas Adjetey to strengthen their squad and prepare for all scenarios ahead of Monday’s deadline.
Negotiations regarding the transfer of Emmanuel Agbadou to Beşiktaş have reached an impasse due to failure to reach an agreement on the fee, but the Turkish side can restart negotiations by keeping its window open for a longer period of time until February 11.
City will make Bobb some money!
Manchester City sold Oscar Bobb to Fulham for £27 million and received a 20 per cent sell-on and matching right on future bids for him as he went for a medical today.
Fulham are considering a revised bid worth around £35 million for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi.
Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is on AC Milan’s wish list and City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega is also attracting questions.

Chelsea’s Paez swapped France for Argentina
Chelsea recalled Kendry Paez from Strasbourg and sent the Ecuadorian winger on loan to River Plate in Argentina.
Villa could sign Luiz on loan for £21 million
Aston Villa have completed the transfer of Douglas Luiz from Juventus after his loan to Nottingham Forest was cancelled.
Villa have the option to make the move permanent for £21 million plus add-ons. Villa recalled defender Yasin Özcan, who was on loan at Anderlecht, to sign for Beşiktaş.
Newcastle say no to Zouma
Newcastle United are not making any moves for Kurt Zouma. An offer was made to the 31-year-old free agent, who plays for Chelsea and West Ham in the Premier League, after he left Cluj this month.
Kurt Zouma transferred to Romanian club Cluj last summer but left after making just four appearances.
Coventry are chasing Onyeka
Coventry City are back in talks for Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka.
The 28-year-old has not played for the Bees since October but played four games for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations.
£7m bid from Norwich for Bodo hero
Norwich City offered £7 million to Bodo/Glimt for striker Kasper Hogh, who also attracted interest from Celtic. Hogh scored the winning goal in the Champions League match at Atletico Madrid last night; this goal enabled them to reach the play-off round and remain in the competition.

Ipswich have rejected an offer from Derby County for striker Sammie Szmodics.
The 30-year-old joined Tractor Boys from Blackburn in the summer of 2024 in a £9m deal.
Sammie Szmodics scored four goals for Ipswich in the Premier League last season.
Watford is preparing to loan the 21-year-old Udinese defender
Watford is about to loan Udinese’s defender Saba Goglichidze. The 21-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Italian club last summer but has been limited to eight Serie A appearances so far this season.
