Man dies after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning restaurant waste pit in Kerala’s Palakkad

A man died in an accident, and on Friday morning, Palakkad cleaned the waste pit of a restaurant in Olavakode near Palakkad, Kerala.

It is believed that the deceased, described as suchendran from Kallekulangara, died of toxic gas inhalation while cleaning the waste pit in front of the hotel.

Suchendran was called to examine a clogged drainage by the restaurant owner. It was reported that he started to feel discomfort while climbing the waste pit by using a ladder to examine the blockage.

The restaurant owner climbed into the pit to save Suchendran, but soon overcomes toxic smoke. Although nearby people managed to draw their owner to security, Suchendran collapsed in the pit.

Firefighters and rescue services personnel took off Suchendran and took him to a hospital, but died of severe toxic gas inhalation.
