Man drowns, multiple swimmers pulled from the waters of Moore River, north of Perth

A man drowned and four swimmers withdrew from a river during a dramatic rescue at a popular camp point during school holidays.

Emergency services ran to the Moore River in Guilderton about 90 km north of Perth, and after the reports, swimmers were fighting in water at 10.10 on Tuesday.

One witness said that West Bystanders had pulled the swimmers from the river and made CPR until the medical officials arrived.

Ambulance teams reportedly used a defibrillator, but a 38 -year -old man could not be revived at the scene and did not die.

A St John WA spokesman said five crews were sent to the incident and two girls and a man in his 40s were taken to Joondalup Health Campus.

A woman in her 30s ran to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in a critical situation.
