Man faces murder charge after fatal stabbing in Wilson County domestic assault, police say

Police charged a suspect with first-degree murder In connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman on November 5. In a domestic assault case in Wilson County.

Rafael Arita-Alberto, 38, is being held without bail in the county jail, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jessica Arita, 34, was killed after investigators say she was stabbed with a sharp-edged object, Wilson County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Moore said.

Deputies responded to a home in the 3400 block of Hunters Point Pike on Nov. 5 around 9:30 p.m. Two uninjured children were found outside. They told deputies their parents were inside, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect briefly barricaded himself in a bedroom before deputies were able to break down the door and make contact, the department said. It was determined that the victim died due to his injuries.

At the time, police said the Department of Children’s Services arranged for the children to stay with a relative.
