Man falls from cliff into ocean sparking major search near Narooma

A multi-agency search will resume on Monday after a man was reported missing on the state’s South Coast late Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to Mystery Bay Beach, approximately 12 kilometers south of Narooma, at around 18.40 after reports of a man falling into the water.
“Officers from the South Coast Police District attended the incident and were told that a 23-year-old man had fallen several meters off the cliff into the ocean and never resurfaced,” the police statement said.
An emergency team from Marine Rescue NSW, SES and volunteer VRA Rescue NSW launched a search but were unable to locate the man.
The search was suspended on Sunday evening and will resume shortly.
The beach where the man was last seen has numerous rock pools and caves and is adjacent to a campsite.
