Man hospitalised with gunshot wound to leg after Greenacre shooting

An alleged gunman was caught on CCTV fleeing a Sydney property after a man was allegedly shot in the leg.
Emergency services received reports that two men had been shot in a driveway on Old Kent Road in Greenacre at around 7.15pm on Wednesday.
Around the same time, police were called to Bankstown Hospital’s emergency department after a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg and injured.
Footage released by police showed a masked man dressed in black running from the property and fleeing in a gray Audi Q3.
While a crime scene investigation was carried out at Greenacre and the hospital, the police launched an investigation into the incident.
Detective Inspector Nathan Green told 7News the gunman approached the victim on foot and fired several shots at him in the driveway.
“The victim is known to the police but is not providing assistance at this stage,” he said.

“This was a brazen attack and we are fortunate that no one was seriously injured or killed as a result.
“We hope there are people out there who can shed some light and we urge them to come forward with any information that will help us resolve this matter.”
Detectives have appealed to anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage showing the Audi’s movements before and after the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
