Man killed by wife’s friend; accused arrested

A 42-year-old man was brutally murdered and his body was stuffed in a plastic bag before being dumped near an industrial area in Bommasandra under the jurisdiction of Hebbagodi police station.

The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Sunil Nayak. Based on the complaint, Hebbagodi police detected a case of murder and launched an investigation.

During the investigation, the police arrested the accused, 30-year-old Basudev Mallick, a native of another state. Investigation revealed that the accused was in an illicit relationship with the victim’s wife, Pushpa.

According to the police, Basudev tried to kill Sunil Nayak so that he could continue his relationship with Pushpa unhindered. Allegedly, on the day of the incident, he took Sunil with him on the pretext of drinking alcohol. During the drinking session, the defendant attacked him with a knife and killed him.

After committing the crime, the defendant reportedly disposed of the body by putting it in a plastic bag and then threw it near the industrial area to destroy the evidence.

Police recovered the gun used in the crime and seized other evidence. While the suspect was taken into custody, it was learned that the investigation continues.
