Man left fighting for life after allegedly being dragged across street in Sydney suburb of Ashfield, 38yo arrested

A man was left fighting for his life after he was allegedly “dragged” along a street by two men in western Sydney.

A crime scene was set up while emergency services were called to Holden Street near Liverpool Rd in Ashfield at around 3pm on Tuesday following reports of welfare concerns.

Burwood police area command was informed that two men were allegedly seen dragging a third man who was seriously injured.

The injured man, believed to be in his 50s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The other two people fled the scene before the police arrived.

Police later arrested a 38-year-old man nearby and he was taken to Burwood police station where inquiries continue.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Burwood police or crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
