Man shot dead in public, car found ablaze minutes later

A man was publicly shot as a car was found on fire just a few hundred meters away.
Emergency services were called to Riverstone in Sydney’s northwest at 6pm on Wednesday following reports of a shooting.
One man was found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.

A car fire was called around the block at 6pm as emergency services responded to the incident.
The vehicle was destroyed.
It is unclear whether the two incidents are related, but a second crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.
The shooting came after 60-year-old Artemios Mintzas was peppered with 50 bullets on an inner-Western Sydney shopping strip on Sunday night.
One man was struck in the neck, but was expected to survive and there were no fatalities.
