Man stabbed to death in Kadapa district

A resident of Alamkhanpalle was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at the Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) premises in Kadapa district in the early hours of Monday.

Police suspect that a conflict between children playing on the streets resulted in the stabbing of the deceased Pedda Dastagiri. Following the conflict between children, two groups of young people allegedly continued the issue by engaging in a verbal duel at Maremma Jatara a few days ago. The trouble initially appeared to have subsided, but unidentified miscreants reportedly waited for Dastagiri, who was apparently involved in the conflict, at RIMS at 3am and stabbed him several times, killing him on the spot.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke visited the scene later the same day and instructed the Kadapa Taluk police to nab the culprits immediately.

Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties gathered at the morgue on Monday morning and demanded action against the perpetrators. Left party leaders, on the other hand, accused the State government of ignoring the ‘drug menace’ and said the murder was a direct result of the ‘indifference of the police and administrative authorities towards the threat’.
