Jesus figure towers over town square in world’s largest nativity scene in Alicante, Spain

The world’s largest nativity scene welcomes its visitors this year to Alicante, Spain, where the towering exhibition once again covers the City Hall Square in the city center.
First built in 2020, the oversized figures were awarded the Guinness World Records (GWR) as the tallest nativity set in the world.
The Giant Nativity Scene, as it is known, has become a must-see holiday destination for locals and tourists alike.

The huge scene features the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary and Joseph) and three wise men.
Baby Jesus, shown lying in his manger, stands 10 feet, 10.7 inches tall and 10 feet, 10.3 inches wide, stretching more than 13 feet in length, according to GWR.

Joseph towers above the screen, 59 feet, 2.6 inches tall and nearly 15 feet wide.
The height of Mary, mother of God is 34 feet, 8.9 inches high and 11 feet, 5.4 inches wide.

The Giant Nativity Scene officially opened for the season on November 23, inviting families for photos and holiday strolls.

Manger Square, located in the center of Bethlehem, takes its name from the manger where Jesus was laid after his birth.
Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who has served as the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem since 2020, kicked off the celebration with a call for a “Christmas full of light” during a traditional procession from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, the Associated Press reported.

“Together we decided to be the light, and the light of Bethlehem is the light of the world,” he told the assembled crowd.
