Manhunt launched after sleeping woman sexually assaulted on train | UK | News

A manhunt was launched after a woman sleeping on the train was sexually assaulted.

Police said the woman was traveling between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton at around 9am on Thursday, October 23, when she woke up to realize a man was sexually assaulting her.

The suspect then got off at Wolverhampton station. British Transport Police (BTP) officers today released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the attack.

A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a train between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton are releasing this footage in connection with the incident.

“At around 9am on Thursday, October 23, a woman traveling on the shuttle woke up to find that a man was sexually assaulting her.

“He then got off the train at Wolverhampton station.

“Detectives believe the man in the CCTV footage may have information that could assist their investigation.”
