Marjorie Taylor Greene Argues That ‘Impeding Law Enforcement’ Can Lead to ‘Terrible Tragedies’ Like Renee Good Shooting

Good, 37, was shot and killed by an ICE agent last week in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after he used his car to block a road. When agents got into the car and tried to open the driver’s side door, Good attempted to flee the scene and drove toward an agent. This agent, who was later identified Jonathan RossAs he passed Good, he fired multiple times at close range. He later died from his injuries.
The incident quickly became a political flashpoint. Ross’ supporters argued that he acted in self-defense and that Good tried to hit him with his car. Critics, on the other hand, accused Ross of murder and argued that the use of force was excessive.
Appearing on CNN Tuesday morning, Greene hinted that the situation could have been avoided if Good had not gotten in the agents’ way.
“This is a situation that should not happen,” Greene said. “I’m certainly not a ballistics expert, and I’m not an expert on law enforcement behavior, so I have a hard time evaluating that scenario. But there’s a woman who died today, and I think it’s extremely sad, but I will say that when you engage in activities that put yourself in a dangerous situation where you hinder law enforcement, these terrible tragedies can happen.”
Greene added that she was a “huge advocate of peaceful protests” but advised demonstrators to “do it in a way where your life is not in danger.”
