Married High School Teacher Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Student She’d Said ‘I Love You’ To

A married high school teacher was arrested in Washington for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his students.

Scoon, 29, was a teacher at Sprague High School where he allegedly met the 16-year-old victim.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that he was charged on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Raymond DepartedThe Sprague School District’s superintendent and principal have not yet commented on Scoon’s employment status.
The investigation into his alleged behavior is ongoing.

Scoon and the teen spoke with cops on Monday. She said he sexually assaulted her and performed oral sex on the child.
The alleged after-school sexual assaults took place in a large locker in his classroom, police said in a statement.
Investigators allegedly found video of the duo entering his classroom long after school hours. The duo remained in the classroom for 45 minutes.
Scoon also allegedly said they kissed and caressed each other’s private parts in a locker in the school gym and in the bushes outside the high school tennis court after tennis practice.
The teenager reportedly told investigators that the sexual abuse was beginning to have a negative impact on his mental health.
She allegedly told cops that she tried to end things with Scoon, but her teacher got upset and threatened to kill herself.
The investigation into Scoon began on February 15 after the boy’s mother allegedly went to police with texts she found shared between her son and his teacher.

The mother said the abuse may have started in the fall.
Apparently her son’s curiosity was piqued when he started attending church where Scoon was the leader of his youth group, so she checked his phone.
In some of the texts, Scoon allegedly complained about marital problems and discussed with the child how he wanted a divorce. Police claimed the two even exchanged “I love you” words.
Scoon also apparently asked the teenage boy not to date any of his classmates because he couldn’t handle it, police said.
Scoon does not yet have a lawyer on record and has not been asked to plead. It is not known how long he has been married to his wife.
