Winston Churchill took a nap in the middle of the day during World War II, his grandson has revealed.
visible on rosebud In his podcast with Gyles Brandreth on Tuesday (November 11), Sir Nicholas Soames described his grandfather’s daily routine, which always included an afternoon nap.
He said the former prime minister had a few glasses of champagne, white wine and brandy at lunch after holding a war cabinet meeting, then put on his pajamas and jumped into bed.
Sir Nicholas said he would rest for about 2.5 hours, then get up and continue working until the early hours of the morning. “That’s the only way he can make it at his age,” he added.
