Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Lidl and Sainsbury’s to shut all stores for 1 | UK | News

Major supermarkets including Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Lidl and Sainsbury’s will close all their stores for the day.
Britons consider it normal to go to the shop for a liter of milk, kitchen paper or a bottle of champagne; but they also need to prepare themselves to go a day or two without one. With Christmas Day fast approaching, households are writing off their shopping lists to stock up on essentials and festive food before stores close.
Many are planning to time their last trips for when the latest sales are in place and supermarkets are slapping yellow (or red, in the case of Aldi) stickers on perishable and festive items. Others want to know when is the last time they can buy a box of mince pies to feed the kids.
You should check the opening times of your local store, but in general small local stores are more likely to open earlier and later than larger supermarkets. Many gas station stores will also be open on December 25 to serve emergencies and workers on the road as normal.
Here are the opening hours of the best supermarkets.
