Maxx Crosby was set to be the next Baltimore Ravens star, but it looks like he’ll be returning to the Las Vegas Raiders for an eighth season instead.
After the Ravens committed to sending Crosby two first-round picks, the team backed out of the deal due to health issues — Crosby recently had meniscus surgery and missed the final two games of the season.
The event, which Crosby called “one of the most unique, crazy, wild, roller coaster rides I’ve ever been a part of,” began with a lot of emotion as he celebrated six months of sobriety with his wife, manager and other friends as rumors began to heat up.

However, once the trade was made, things started strangely; He flew to Washington DC and then drove two hours to Baltimore.
“It was — weak,” Crosby said on his podcast. “Rush.”
Crosby later said he didn’t see either general manager Eric DeCosta or head coach Jesse Minter for “five hours,” which struck him as odd. When he met Minter later, he realized something was wrong.
“I gave him the signal and you could tell he was de-energized…He had a blank face,” Crosby said. “I don’t think anything, maybe he is different. I don’t know him.

“I walk into the room, they sit me on the couch and say, ‘I don’t know how to say this. One of our doctors has concerns about the results, about your knee. Some of them are worried about the future. We really want you. We’re going to have to get more and more opinions.'”
That meeting with Minter left Crosby “freaking out” and he received a call saying the Ravens were backing out, which made him “fuck it” and send him back to Las Vegas on a private jet.
“It was crazy, bro. There was so much going on,” Crosby said.
But that didn’t stop Crosby from waking up before 5 a.m. the next morning to practice at the Raiders facility.
The Ravens quickly turned around after the Crosby deal fell through and signed the previous contract. Cincinnati Bengals Star Trey Hendrickson was signed to a 4-year, $112 million contract with $60 million guaranteed.
“Everything happens for a reason. Don’t believe anything you hear and half of what you see. I’m a Raider. I’m back. Run away…” Crosby shared to x the trade was canceled shortly afterwards.
In 15 games last season, Crosby recorded 73 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles. His sack numbers are particularly impressive because the team was losing so often that Crosby wasn’t afforded the same number of opportunities to rush the quarterback compared to defenders on better teams.
