Maya Jama bounces back from the flu as she touches down in Cape Town for Love Island: All Stars

Maya Jama has recovered from her mystery illness as she lands in Cape Town ahead of Love Island: All Stars.
The 31-year-old presenter was forced to pull out of the Love Island: All Stars launch event days before ITV2’s popular dating series began.

Maya was all smiles as she strolled through the airport carrying two large suitcases as she prepared to host the star-studded version of the ITV2 show on Tuesday.
She opted for a casual ensemble for her airport look as she wore a ribbed chiffon sheer shirt over black wide-leg trousers and carried a patent bag.

Maya had to miss the Love Island: All Stars press launch due to illness.
In his absence, the panel, hosted by Elizabeth Day, took place at Soho House Television Center in West London, with voiceover star Iain Sterling, former winners Molly Smith and Tom Clare and producers Mike Spencer and Amanda Stavr in attendance.
Sharing a health update on the plane on Monday, Maya smiled slightly as she took a selfie as she prepared to get some sleep.
He explained that he took some vitamins to strengthen his immune system and healed himself by ‘praying to the sun’.
He wrote: ‘I would have spent this flight in the red chatting with the flight crew but I was heading into the year healthy….
‘Hahaha to be honest the flu came at the last minute to destroy me for the last 24 hours. I took vitamin C and praying the sun washes it all away, next stop [South Africa flag emoji]’
Maya will greet the All Star Islanders in the villa before the new series begins on ITV2 a week later.
On Sunday afternoon, Maya was cheerful as she shared a selfie on Instagram and revealed that her flight was set for Monday, saying she was ‘so excited and so ready’ to start working on the hit show again.

Maya’s team had nothing but praise for their host, who will mark her third year hosting the reality series in her absence on Monday.
Producer Amanda said she was the perfect host for Love Island. ‘He’s cool, he’s fun, he’s sexy, he’s a huge fan of the show and he makes her feel really young and relevant.’
‘He brings great energy to the show. ‘I’m sorry he can’t be with us, but I think his enthusiasm and love for the show and his support of all the Islanders has really paid off.’
Mike added that he often thinks that Maya might have been a contestant on a matchmaking show “sometime.” He would be an iconic Islander. He’s great.”
The star showed off her incredible figure in a gold minidress for a new series of promotional shots released on Monday, as she vowed to ‘get sexy’ for the return of Love Island: All Stars.
The presenter stunned as she wore the sparkling, chained gold micro mini dress.
Ahead of the show’s return, Maya admitted they were working on her iconic outfits for when she greets the islanders around the fire pit.
She explained that her final wardrobe line-up has not been finalized yet, but she knows her combinations will be ‘sexy as ever’.

The Love Island: All Stars cast has now been confirmed.
Millie Court, 29, who triumphed in the ITV2 soap alongside ex Liam Reardon in 2021, returns following the couple’s split in September and the definitive end to their on/off relationship.
She is joined by Jess Harding, 25, who scoops the £50,000 prize in 2023, but her romance with ex-boyfriend Sammy Root ended just two months after leaving the villa.
Whitney Adebayo, 28, narrowly missed out on winning the same year when she and Lochan Nowacki finished second, but to the shock of fans, the couple ended their two-year relationship in 2025 under controversial circumstances.
Boyzone star Ronan Keating’s son Jack, 26, is also returning to Love Island after failing to find love during his 2022 stint.
Helena Ford, 29, who has just left the Mallorca villa, will return after being booted from the show following her ex-partner Harry Cooksley.
22-year-old Tommy Bradley is joining former co-star Helena after the series aired last summer.

Keep Love Island in mind in 2018, with former contestant Charlie Frederick, 31, set to re-enter the villa after previously dating former islander Lucie Donlan.
Also returning is Belle Hassan, 27, one of the first Love Islanders with celebrity connections to appear on the ITV2 dating show.
Jess Harding will have another go at finding love in the villa after winning Love Island with Sammy Root in 2023, but their romance was short-lived.
Dessert seller Sean Stone, 26, and Leanne Amaning also return to the villa for a second chance to find a connection.
And to round out the series, Ciaran Davies, 23, who finished second in 2024 with then-girlfriend Nicole Samuels, will join Shaq Muhammad, 27, in the new series.
