Stefon Diggs claims to be best No 2 receiver ahead of training camp

Stefon Diggs is still looking for his next NFL team after a season that ended with a Super Bowl LX loss to the New England Patriots.
With NFL training camps set to begin across the country at the end of the month, Diggs, who will be entering his 12th season, made quite the statement in a YouTube video he recently posted on his channel.
Diggs explained why, stating that he is the No. 2 best receiver in the league.

“Everyone got 1,” he said. “Opportunities aside, people might say there are seven true No. 1s. To me, I can compete with anyone, but those are your No. 1s. You can’t name a No. 2 better than me. There is no No. 2 on a team. Let’s probably give people credit and just say, ‘Okay, you want to take away the No. 1.’ Name your No. 2 receiver right now. Tell me how much he makes. My final question is: Is he better than me?”
In his 11th season, his first and only season with the Patriots, Diggs threw for 1,013 yards on 85 receptions (102 targets) and four touchdowns from star quarterback Drake Maye. This was Diggs’ seventh 1,000-yard season in the NFL, which has occurred in seven of the last eight seasons.

The 32-year-old player stated that he was the number 2 option; That means he might be willing to take a pay cut to join a roster he can help get back to the playoffs and, as players hope, back to the Super Bowl. But no team has pulled the trigger yet.
Could Diggs’ off-field issues be a factor? He faced some serious allegations in December after being charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault over a dispute with his personal chef.

However, Diggs was found not guilty by a jury, and the NFL closed its investigation into the matter, stating that there was insufficient evidence to warrant a suspension for violating its civil conduct policy. Diggs’ attorney said “professional athletes have a target on their backs” after the not guilty verdict.
“We took these allegations seriously from day one, and that’s exactly why we wanted the facts to come to light through the legal process,” Mitch Schuster of Meister, Seelig & Schuster, who represents Diggs, told Fox News Digital in May.
The Patriots released Diggs in March, but he has been staying in shape and looking for his next opportunity since the league cleared him last month.

Teams to watch could be the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, Washington Commanders, Kansas City Chiefs or even a Buffalo Bills reunion with Josh Allen, who built a strong rapport with him to win four straight Pro Bowls from 2020-23.
