McLeod’s Daughters star dies aged 45 after chronic illness battle
Rachael Carpani, who plays Jodi Fountain McLeod on the TV show McLeod’s Daughtersdied. He was 45 years old.
Carpani’s sister, Georgia, announced Monday Rachael died on Instagram “unexpectedly” on December 7, after “a long struggle with chronic illness.”
“The family requests privacy at this very difficult time and will have no further statement,” the post read. He said a private funeral will be held for friends and family on Friday.

Carpani joined McLeod’s Daughters In 2001, she plays farmer Jodi Fountain, daughter of maid Meg, in Drovers Run. She is elevated to “girl” status later in the series when it is revealed that she is the love child of Drover’s Run patriarch Jack McLeod (portrayed by Jack Thompson in a 1996 TV movie that predates the TV series). Her character was the half-sister of the show’s two leads, Claire (Lisa Chappell) and Tess (Carter).

The Nine Network show, which ran for eight seasons from 2001 to 2009, was a huge success overseas, premiering in more than 200 territories, including the United States, on the Hallmark network.
