JD Vance says Andrew should face US Congress over Epstein links | UK | News

JD Vance has intensified his calls for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to be questioned by American lawmakers about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Referring to the British prime minister’s recent comments, the Vice President voiced his support for cross-party moves to force the former prince to testify to Congress.
“I saw Keir Starmer say something about it,” Vance said. “I’m definitely open to that.”
The Vice President explained that congressional Republicans will ultimately decide whether Andrew can meaningfully contribute to the ongoing bipartisan investigation into Epstein and the U.S. government’s handling of the case.
“I’ll let them decide whether they want to talk to Prince Andrew or not. I’ll definitely be open to that. But that’s their decision, not mine,” he added.
The development comes as King Charles ordered Andrew to vacate his Royal Lodge residence on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Tuesday night amid growing concern about the allegations.
Justice files reveal ‘incest’ links of elites
The Vice President said the Justice Department released files on Friday that show “there’s a pretty incestuous nature in America’s elite.”
The materials include footage showing Andrew bending over a woman while touching her waist. The emails also showed that Andrew maintained regular contact with Epstein for more than two years after the financier was convicted of child sex crimes.
Vance argued that the files were cleared Donald TrumpHe maintained a friendship with Epstein throughout the 1990s until the mid-2000s, when the president said he cut ties with him over “creepy” behavior toward young women at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Trump ‘outside the social circle’
“President Trump is well outside the social circle,” Vance insisted.
“He knows a lot of these people. He certainly has similar wealth and power. But he was never as friendly with Epstein as he was with a lot of other people.”
“I think it shows that there’s an incestuous nature within America’s elite, and it’s quite disgusting. And I think it reflects very badly on a lot of people. Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and many others,” he told the Daily Mail.
Starmer said on Saturday that Andrew should present himself to US lawmakers to reveal everything he knew about Epstein to help his victims.
“Anyone who has information should be ready to share that information, no matter what is asked of them,” the Prime Minister told reporters. he said.
“You can’t be victim-centered if you’re not prepared to do that.”
Andrew, who was seen both driving and horseback riding around Windsor on Monday, has remained mum about the release of the latest document but has consistently and forcefully denied any wrongdoing.
The House of Representatives does not have the authority to subpoena Andrew due to his foreign national status.
Charles stripped his brother of his dukedom and principality titles in October following renewed scrutiny of his Epstein ties after Virginia Giuffre’s memoir emerged posthumously. He took his own life last April.
Giuffre claims and solution
Giuffre alleged that Andrew had sexual intercourse with her on three separate occasions when she was 17, at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London home, in New York and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island.
Andrew, who vehemently disputed her allegations, paid Giuffre £12 million in an out-of-court settlement in 2022 to end his civil sexual assault lawsuit against her.
British police announced on Tuesday that they would evaluate the allegation that Epstein trafficked a second woman to England for sexual activity with Andrew.
The former prince ignored an invitation to testify before the US House Oversight Committee following the release of the Epstein files in November.
