Meghan Markle has been criticized by fans for “acting like trash” after announcing the end of her partnership with Netflix. On Friday night, both the Duchess of Sussex and the streaming giant announced they were ending their partnership with As Ever.
Netflix said in a statement: “Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we’re delighted to have played a part in bringing that vision to life. As was always intended, Meghan will continue to grow and independently take the brand to the next level, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s spokesperson said the brand was “ready to stand on its own two feet”, adding: “As Ever is grateful for Netflix’s launch and partnership in our first year.

“We’ve experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As Ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”
However, some fans did not like the Duchess’ announcement of the end of her partnership with Netflix and expressed their opinions on social media.
One user wrote to X: “Netflix has signed a contract with the course. Rachel [Meghan’s name in Suits] He chose to act like garbage.
“This reminds me that he thought Spotify was holding him back, and then he got abandoned even by them, going to a platform no one had heard of.”
Another noted: “’We had significant and rapid growth and that’s why Netflix abandoned us.’ Yeah, because that’s how Netflix makes money, being a charity and spending millions on advertising for a start-up, then cutting ties once the start-up starts making money, right?”
A third said: “Well the litter is its real moment [modus operandi].”

A fourth joked: “Remember how limiting the American Riviera Orchard brand was?” with smiley face emoji.
A fifth added: “Polarizing lifestyle brand. More word salad.”
A sixth person said: “Meghan lives in a fantasy world with a massive ego. She’s done everything wrong. Her best option is to hide out and live a quiet life.”
The first series of Meghan, With Love premiered on Netflix in March 2025, coinciding with the launch of As Usual, whose first products, including raspberry jam, were introduced repeatedly throughout the show.
Products available on the company’s website include honey and tea sets, jam sets and a candle for $64 (£48).
Figures showed earlier this year that the Duchess’s Netflix show failed to crack the top 1,000 most-watched programs on the platform.
Meghan, the second episode of With Love, is the 1,124th most watched episode between July and December 2025, with 2 million views, according to data announced by Netflix. It became a series.
