Meghan Markle changed her hairstyle 40 times in three weeks while on tour with Prince Harry, one of her former stylists has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex married into the Royal Family in 2018, but her career with the Firm was cut short when she and her husband decided to leave the UK for a new life in America in 2020.
Despite her short royal tenure, Meghan has embarked on a number of foreign trips, including a 16-day trip to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga. Reports claim the former Suits actress approaches her royal looks with “an actor’s eye for detail and a producer’s appetite for options,” which sometimes clashes with royal pressures.
London-based celebrity hairstylist George Northwood worked with the Duchess during her time in the Royal Family and spoke about their time together.

he said Online Radar: “Working with Meghan was a game changer. I loved her from day one.
“I toured Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga with them and we did 40 appearances in three weeks.”
He claimed that the Duchess will always have opinions about her hair and Prince Harry will always notice it too.
He said: “Meghan always had ideas but then she let me get away. And Harry was very, very good at noticing her hair.”
She also revealed: “Royal tours aren’t always extravagant. I did Meghan’s hair in the airport toilets in Morocco. We had 10 minutes.”
“A celebrity can come in whenever he or she is ready. A nobleman needs to walk out that door right now, no negotiations. You have three minutes to put that hair into a bun.”

Sources with knowledge of Meghan’s trip during her time as a royal said her demands and the volume of them were “extraordinary” by royal standards.
They told the outlet: “Meghan came with the mindset of an artist. Every outfit, every look, had to feel different.”
“This meant constant hair changes that put a strain on the team.”
Another added: “This wasn’t so much diva behavior as it was an actress refusing to repeat herself while the cameras were rolling non-stop.”
Meanwhile, a former royal aide said of the Duchess: “She was used to teams iterating until they felt it was right. The institution works on precision. That tension shows up even in something as simple as hair.”
Those restrictions, combined with Markle’s expectations, created a challenging move that sources say defined her brief royal tenure.
“He was used to teams iterating until they felt it was right,” one former aide said. “The organization works on precision. That tension showed up even over something as simple as hair.”
