Meghan Markle communications: Meghan Markle’s PR team in turmoil? Communications director Emily Robinson resigns just weeks after Paris Fashion Week drama

Meghan Markle’s communication: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are experiencing another shakeup in their communications team, with Emily Robinson, who joined as the couple’s communications director in late May, leaving the role after just four months, according to a report.

Emily Robinson’s Brief Tenure at Sussex

Before joining the Sussexes, Robinson worked as Senior Director of Publicity at Netflix. Sources said PEOPLE reported that he left voluntarily. A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said Robinson “oversaw project-based work on a very successful season of ‘With Love, Meghan’ and provided additional support to the production company,” adding that she “did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success,” as quoted in the PEOPLE report.
Robinson’s LinkedIn profile has not yet been updated to reflect his time working with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Facing Another Communications Shock

Staff turnover is not new for the couple. There were many changes in Meghan and Harry’s contact staff after moving from the United Kingdom to California in 2020, PEOPLE reports.

In June, deputy press secretary Kyle Boulia and UK press officer Charlie Gipson left about a year after they were hired, according to the report. Last year, global press secretary and head of communications Ashley Hansen also left to start her own communications firm, PEOPLE reported. Despite the departures, some members of the team remained. According to the report, Liam Maguire continues to serve as communications director in Europe, while Meredith Maines still serves as the couple’s communications officer. Former publicists James Holt and Miranda Bardot moved into non-PR roles within the team.

Meghan Markle Faces Paris Fashion Week Backlash

Robinson’s exit comes just weeks after Meghan faced backlash for sharing a video of herself cycling around the city during Paris Fashion Week, PEOPLE reports.

Critics suggested the footage was insensitive because it appeared near the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, where Prince Harry’s mother Princess Diana tragically died in 1997, according to the report. Sources close to the couple told the Daily Mail that Harry was disturbed by the criticism, emphasizing that Meghan was “nowhere near the tunnel” and that negative media narratives continued to target the family, according to a PEOPLE report.

According to the report, since rejoining Instagram in early 2025, Meghan has mostly shared moments from her family life with 6-year-old Prince Archie and 4-year-old Princess Lilibet, as well as updates about her lifestyle brand ‘As Ever’.
