U.S. and European interests are ‘intertwined’, Rubio says

The United States has no intention of abandoning its deep alliance with Europe and wants the region to succeed, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday.

“We care deeply about your future and ours,” Rubio said at the Munich Security Conference.

“We want Europe to be strong. We believe that Europe must survive, because the two great wars of the last century are, for us, history’s greatest reminder that our destiny is and always will be ultimately intertwined with your destiny.”
