Meghan Markle has “energized Kim Kardashian” with her latest shock decision to return to acting after eight years, a royal expert has claimed. The Duchess of Sussex was spotted on set in Los Angeles filming a movie that will feature other Hollywood stars.
Meghan is set to play herself in Jason Orley’s Close Personal Friends, whose cast includes Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid’s son Jack Quaid and Brit Henry Golding. The film is about two couples, one famous and one not, who meet in Santa Barbara and become close friends, and Meghan will reportedly appear in a small role.
Now, according to the royal expert, Meghan’s move is very similar to that of Kim Kardashian, who has also starred in various films and television shows.
US-based royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said: Sun: “This energizes Kardashian. Kim Kardashian portrays herself in small roles, movies and television shows before moving on to scripts. [films]With Lili’s godfather Tyler Perry.
The Duchess, who previously had an acting career in Hollywood, has been on various business trips since leaving the Royal Family in 2020.
This year alone, she launched a new lifestyle brand called As Ever, released two seasons of With Love, Meghan on Netflix, and debuted her second podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder.
Royal commentator Charlie Rae said Meghan will continue her different ventures in the future.
“He’s going to find another plan, another Netflix show, another jam somewhere. So he’s going to keep doing all that,” he told the outlet.
“Actually, I don’t think he has any real purpose in terms of career.”
He added: “In my view he could have had a great career here in the Royal Family, but he chose not to have it.
“He’s doing all kinds of things now, taking cameos in a movie, making jams, you know, Christmas specials, whatever.
“He’s still trying to figure out why he did this, to protect the pictures of his children; if they suddenly see one of the children’s ears, he takes them down.
“You know, I think he’ll keep doing these odd jobs for which he’ll be paid well.
“And I’d probably like to know how much money he got for his screen time in this movie. I’m sure it was quite a lot.”
