Devotees offer morning prayers at ghats across Bihar on last day of Chhath Puja

Thousands of devotees across Bihar culminated the four-day festival of Chhath Puja by offering morning prayers to the rising sun on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Devotees gather from early morning on the banks of River Ganges and other water bodies in Patna to offer ‘Usha Arghya’ to the rising sun.

The Patna district administration has made elaborate arrangements at more than 100 ghats along the river to prevent any untoward incident during Chhath Puja, Bihar’s biggest festival, officials said.

Various medical camps have also been set up at various ghats in Patna, they said.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended Chhath Puja festivities along with his family members at his official residence, 1 Anne Marg, on Tuesday morning (October 28, 2025).

Chhath Puja was also celebrated at the homes of many politicians in the state capital.

The four-day festivities started on October 25 with the ‘Nahai Khai’ ritual. It is celebrated on the sixth day of ‘Kartik Shukla’ and six days after Diwali.
