Meghan Markle makes surprise visit to children’s hospital | Royal | News

Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to a children’s hospital this week and met young patients. The Duchess of Sussex visited Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Thursday as part of the hospital’s Make March Matter campaign.
In the first part of her visit, Prince Harry’s wife spent time painting watercolor paintings with young patients in the Creative Oasis section of the hospital. Meghan joined patients and staff in a calming activity for a while.
The duchess, who was not accompanied by her husband during the visit, later spent time in the wards containing bedridden patients who could not leave their rooms. It was a visit reminiscent of those made by her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.
“Today we were honored to welcome Los Angeles’ Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to CHLA’s Creative Oasis, where she spent time painting alongside our incredible patients,” the hospital wrote on Instagram yesterday.
“These special moments are a reminder of how powerful creativity can be in promoting joy, connection, and healing.
“Meghan’s visit is part of #MakeMarchMatter, our month-long fundraising campaign that supports the lifesaving care, research and innovation that takes place every day at CHLA. CHLA has been an unwavering beacon of hope and healing for 125 years.
“You too can make an impact by shopping, dining or attending an event with a #MakeMarchMatter participating business. For more information, visit: makemarchmatter.org.”
Meghan’s visit on March 12 was praised by royal fans, with one writing online: “This is incredibly touching. Such a beautiful use of her time and platform to bring comfort, creativity and smiles to children who are going through so much. A truly special visit.”
