Suspect accused of mass stabbing on Huntingdon train refuses to attend court
Man charged over mass stabbing on train cambridgeshire and multiple knife attacks peterborough He did not attend his trial and will go to trial next year.
Anthony Williams, 32, is accused of attempting to murder 10 people LNER Service from Doncaster to London on 1 November 11 people were treated in hospital.
HE He is also accused of attempting to murder a 17-year-old teenager on a DLR train at Pontoon Dock in East London and on several separate occasions on 31 October.
He did not attend the hearing held at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday, with the provisional hearing date set for 22 June 2026.
The attack began shortly after the train left Peterborough station when passengers activated emergency alarms. Train driver Andrew Johnson, who served in the Royal Navy for 17 years, contacted a signalman and requested an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon station.

Williams was charged with the attempted murder of Scott Bletcher; Michael Paffett; Kevin Deely; Jonathan Gjoshe; David Presland; Sachin Balakrishnan; Stephen Crean; Samir Zitouni; Rasza Aslam and Scott Green.
Mr Zitouni, who worked as a train crew member remained in a critical condition with multiple injuries after being credited with helping save multiple lives.
Williams is also charged with the attempted murder of a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and the attempted murder of a 22-year-old man named William Ogelby.
Two separate incidents are said to have occurred in Peterborough on October 31; the first is on the pedestrian bridge over Henry Penn Walk and the second is in the Rail World parking lot.
He is also accused of attempting to injure 28-year-old Dawid Taborski on the same footbridge around 7 p.m.

He is accused of fighting at Ritzy’s Barbers in Queens Walk at 7.20pm and the theft of a pack of knives, described in the court document as a “four-pack of kitchen knives worth £15”, from an Asda store in Stevenage.
This theft was said to have occurred on October 31st.
Williams is accused of assaulting Jordan Morley as he boarded the train from King’s Cross to Peterborough on November 1.
He is also accused of possessing a bladed article in a public place on October 31 at Henry Penn Walk, Rail World car park and a footbridge near Queen’s Walk in Peterborough.
The alleged knife-wielder was taken into custody after his arrest in Huntingdon.
Cambridgeshire Police has announced it has launched an internal investigation into the events leading up to the mass stabbing on the LNER train service from Doncaster to King’s Cross.
