Melania Trump raised eyebrows as she awkwardly walked away from the podium after giving a speech about Jeffrey Epstein.
In her speech from the White House, the First Lady addressed rumors that she was “friends” with Epstein and made her stance clear by saying, “I was never friends with Epstein.”
She explained herself further, adding: “I am not a victim of Epstein, Epstein did not introduce me to him.” Donald Trump,” she said, emphasizing that she met the president organically when they started dating.
Melania, 55, did not finish speaking after her announcement, simply turning around and quickly walking away from the podium as the doors slammed shut behind her. The statement comes after speculation about the depth of his relationship with Epstein and his ex-girlfriend and business partner Ghislaine Maxwell.
In her speech, Melania said she opposed “bold attempts to tarnish” her reputation while explaining why her name was in the Epstein files because of an email exchange between her and Maxwell.
Citing the “numerous fake images and stories” about him circulating online, he urged people to “be careful what you believe” and stressed that he had “no knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims” and was “not involved in any capacity.”

Melania also called: “It is now time for Congress to act; Epstein was not alone; many prominent male executives have resigned from positions of power following the widespread politicization of this issue.
“Of course, this does not imply guilt, but we must still work openly and transparently to uncover the truth.”
She also called on Congress to provide a “public hearing” for Epstein’s victims and “give a day when every woman can tell her story publicly if she so chooses.”
Melania ignored the questions posed to her by members of the press and said “only then will we know the truth” towards the end of her statement, before immediately leaving the podium.

Addressing social media rumors about how she met President Trump, Melania said, “I met my husband by chance at a New York City Party in 1998. This first meeting with my husband is described in detail in my book, Melania.”
Melania also described her first encounter with Epstein at a party. She emphasized that she was never a “participant” in any of Epstein’s crimes, never boarded his “plane” and “never visited his private island.”
The First Lady also stated that “Epstein has never been legally charged or convicted in connection with sex trafficking, exploitation of minors, and other repulsive behavior.”
He continued: “The false smears about me by mean-spirited and politically motivated individuals and organizations who seek to damage my good name for financial gain and political advancement must end.”
