Kremlin sends chilling warning to West over ‘dramatic’ escalation | World | News

The Kremlin issued a stern warning to Washington on Sunday after US-supplied Tomahawk missiles reached Ukrainian territory.

This development emerged after President Trump chose to change his approach following an impasse in talks with Vladimir Putin.

“The Tomahawk issue is extremely worrying,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian state television reporter Pavel Zarubin. “It’s a really dramatic moment right now in terms of escalating tensions in every direction.” The news comes with a map showing that key targets deep within Russia are at risk from US-supplied Tomahawk missiles.

The formidable US-made weapons have a range of 2,500 km, allowing Kiev to continue destroying key targets deep within Russian territory.

On a weekly basis, Ukrainian forces are destroying essential infrastructure, including oil refineries, a scenario that is fueling a Russia-wide oil crisis. Express USA.

Such is the power of the Tomahawks, the US Congressional Research Service observes, that some decommissioned versions can carry nuclear warheads.

This notion, as Peskov noted, is particularly worrying for the Putin administration.

“Imagine: A long-range missile has been launched and is flying, and we know it could be nuclear. What should the Russian Federation think? How should Russia react? Military experts abroad should understand this,” Peskov said.

New attack on Ukraine from Russia overnight

Russia targeted Ukraine’s power grid overnight as part of a sustained offensive to devastate Ukraine’s energy infrastructure ahead of winter. Kyiv Region Governor Mykola Kalashnyk reported that two employees of Ukraine’s largest private energy company, DTEK, were injured in Russia’s attack on the substation.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine also announced that the infrastructure in the Donetsk, Odessa and Chernihiv regions was targeted.

“Russia continues its aerial terror against our cities and communities, intensifying its attacks on our energy infrastructure,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on

Zelensky called for tougher secondary sanctions on buyers of Russian oil. “Sanctions, tariffs and joint actions against Russian oil buyers, that is, those financing this war, must remain on the table,” Trump wrote, adding that they had a “very productive” phone call in which they discussed “details related to the energy sector” as well as strengthening Ukraine’s “air defense, endurance and long-range capabilities.”
