Met Office issues 18-hour warning update as snow and ice to batter 47 areas | Weather | News

The Met Office updated one of the snow and ice warnings already in place on Wednesday evening. The national forecaster warned that icy showers could cause some disruption between the evening of November 19 and the morning of November 20.
The forecaster extended its warning to cover much of north and east Lincolnshire between 5pm on Wednesday and 11am on Thursday. The warning warns Britons that icy conditions could disrupt transport and possibly affect some roads and railways.
It was also warned that some sidewalks, bicycle paths and untreated roads may become icy in places and cause safety problems. Brits should also be careful to avoid injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
This yellow weather warning for snow and ice is just one of six alerts issued on Wednesday, affecting a total of 47 areas.
A yellow warning will also come into force in the Redcar and Cleveland, East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire areas between 3am and 9pm on Thursday.
