“After validation, approximately 1.17 Crore Aadhaar numbers have been disabled. A similar exercise continues with non -CRS states/UTS. Approximately 6.7 Lakh death records have been taken and deactivation continues so far.” He said.
Upon “reporting the death of a family member”, any family member is required to ensure the AADHAAR number and the death number of the deceased person in the Portal after the identity of the deceased. After the necessary verification process of the information provided by the family member, the deactivation of the number of aadhaars of the deceased or more process is carried out.
UDAI is currently carrying out the integration process of the portal with the remaining states and UTs.
“UDAI also supports the Aadhaar number owners who died of state governments. As a pilot, the demographic details of the Old Aadhaar number owners for more than 100 years are shared with the state governments to verify whether the owner is alive.
