Meteorologist’s dire warning as arctic bomb to blast up to 20 INCHES of snow across bulk of America: ‘Plan for days without power’

Weather experts are issuing dire warnings to Americans not to make any travel plans over the weekend as a powerful winter storm is expected to hit multiple states.
As Arctic air from Canada prepares to move south, up to 20 inches of heavy snow, sleet and ice are predicted to cover much of the eastern half of the United States.
Winter storm Fern is expected to be one of the biggest storms of recent times; Meteorologists are urging people to prepare for days without electricity in their homes.
“This is not good,” Weather Channel meteorologist Jordan Steele wrote X. ‘ Plan now! Plan to have day(s) without power this weekend. Schools will be canceled next week.’
‘Don’t plan a road trip this weekend. ‘This could be a situation that could cause people to become stuck on the motorway.’
The National Weather Service is predicting heavy snowfall of more than 12 inches in places throughout the weekend, which will cause hazardous conditions and reduced visibility.
Millions of people from eastern Arizona to the southern tip of New Hampshire are being told to calm down and avoid traveling until the icy storm passes.
‘All model guidance indicates arctic air descending on the Gulf and East Coasts where it will collide with southerly current energy to produce a high-impact winter storm in the southern tier,’ the center wrote on Tuesday morning.

Friday
On Friday, heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to hit the Midwest, Southern Rockies, Plains and Mid-South, moving toward the East Coast.
Snow and ice will be seen from northern Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas to the lower Mississippi Valley on Friday and into the night.
Temperatures are expected to reach nearly 30 degrees below average in parts of the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. CNN reported.
While temperatures in Denver are expected to be in the teens, temperatures in Nashville, Oklahoma City and New York City are hovering around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Chicago’s Friday forecast calls for temperatures to reach minus six degrees.
Winds will make the frigid temperatures worse, with wind chills expected to reach 30 to 50 degrees below zero in the upper Midwest, according to the outlet.
The North Texas Weather Center said a ‘very serious’ and ‘historic’ storm looks ‘more likely as we get closer to Friday.’
“Models are showing either more than 1 inch of freezing rain or more than 12 inches of sleet and snow, which is conservative,” the center said. X.
‘[Precipitation] It will continue for days as highs will stay in the 20s for more than 90 hours.’
The center added that they are ‘definitely expecting’ all three forms of precipitation, starting with freezing rain and about 1 to 4 inches of snow on the tail end.

Dozens of locations are expected to hit the coldest temperatures on record on Saturday, with temperatures expected to dip as low as minus 20 degrees in the Twin Cities.
Denver is expected to reach ten degrees, Oklahoma City is expected to reach five degrees, Nashville is expected to see 17 degrees and New York City is expected to see eleven degrees, while Chicago is expected to see minus eight degrees.
The worst of the cold temperatures are predicted to move into the South and Northeast, where temperatures will be 15 to 30 degrees cooler than average.

By Saturday night, winter chaos could reach the Texas Gulf Coast, southwestern Louisiana, central Mississippi, northern Alabama, northern Georgia and South Carolina, according to The Weather Channel.
Snow may be concentrated in the Mid-Atlantic states and continue into the central South, including Oklahoma and Texas.
