Davinci Leonard charged in Brockton Chipotle double murder shooting case

Federal and local authorities are offering a reward of up to $7,500 and asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect accused of killing two people in a March shooting outside a Chipotle in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Davinci Leonard, 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a residence, the U.S. Marshals Service in the District of Massachusetts said.

The Brockton Police Department responded to a 911 call for a reported shooting outside Chipotle on March 22, 2025, around 7 p.m.

Medical teams arriving at the scene found that a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman had gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where the 15-year-old died. The 18-year-old was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation by detectives with the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Brockton Police Department led to the identification of Leonard as the suspected shooter.

Now the U.S. Marshals Service is on a manhunt to track down Leonard. They say he is a black man, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.

U.S. Marshals added that Leonard was believed to have changed his appearance by cutting his hair and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Plymouth Superior Court issued a warrant for Leonard’s arrest, as well as a nationwide extradition warrant.
