Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons mocked his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, and condemned team owner Jerry Jones in a series of social media posts on Thursday.
Parsons shared a recent quote from Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus that suggested the team’s defensive decline in 2025 was due to Parsons leaving the team via trade before the season.
“Obviously, there’s an All-Pro pass rusher who’s winning really fast [Parsons] If it’s Micah or Myles that would definitely help any defense. [Garrett] or whoever. But that impact player will always help to a certain extent with pass rushes and other drop-backs,” Eberflus said on Thursday.
“You can’t look back though, can you? That’s what happens, and then you focus on where you are.”

Parsons shared the post on X with a series of laughing emojis.
Parsons later published another X post, specifically targeting Jones, claiming Jones had “slandered” him.
“Y’all want me to feel bad? Jerry Jones slandered me to the Cowboys media and national media for months. So I figure I can react to the comment if I want!” Parsons wrote.
Before the Cowboys traded Parsons to the Packers in August, the star linebacker made a public statement announcing that he had requested a trade, saying he didn’t want to be in Dallas “anymore,” largely because of Jones.
Parsons wrote at the time: “I no longer want to have closed-door meetings without my manager. I no longer want to be shot at because I got injured while putting the organization, our fans and my teammates at risk. I no longer want narratives created about me and disseminated to the media. I had purposely remained silent in the hope that something could be worked out.”
Back in July, Jones commented on Parsons’ durability after the linebacker was injured in 2024.

“He got seriously injured in six games last year,” Jones said. “I remember signing a player at the highest-paid position in the league, and he was cut two-thirds of the way through the year in Dak Prescott. [are] “When you’re thinking about pledging and guaranteeing money, you can think about a lot of things, just like the player does.”
Jones later claimed involvement in Cowboys legend Michael Irvin’s show In August, it felt like the organization had reached an agreement with the two-time All-Pro defensive end before Parson’s agent put an end to it.
“When we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to do so,” Jones said.
“Micah and I talked, and then we were going to send it to the agent. We had agreements on the duration, the amount, the guarantees, everything. We were going to send it to the agent, and the agent said, ‘Don’t bother because we have everything we need to negotiate.’ I had already negotiated that. I was already off the mark in a lot of areas.”
“We kept the negotiation in mind,” Jones added.
“The agent is trying to meddle right now and come in there and try to improve the score that we said before,” Jones said.
“That would make him the highest-paid guaranteed player other than a quarterback.” N.F.L.

“If they knew what I offered him, the world would know that I want Micah. He knows what I offer him. So the world would know that I want Micah to play on the team and that I respect him for what he can bring to the team.”
The Cowboys missed the playoffs this year, making their 30th straight appearance without reaching the Super Bowl. Their struggles were largely due to their defensive shortcomings.
Meanwhile, Parsons suffered a season-ending injury.
