Climate activists attempt ‘citizen’s arrest’ on Anglian Water CEO | News

A group of climate activists attempted to place the CEO of Anglian Water under “citizen’s arrest” at a train station in south London on Wednesday morning (October 15).

Anglian Water is one of five water utilities provisionally granted permission to increase charges above original regulatory limits following an appeal.

Footage shows a group of women approaching Mark Thurston at Coulsdon South station, then surrounding him and holding hands to prevent him from leaving.

A woman is heard reading “accusations” to Mr Thurston, in which they accuse Anglian Water of including environmental damage caused by illegal sewage leakage.

The conflict was led by the Citizens Apprehension Network.
