Humiliated College Girl Dies, Brain Stroke Suspected
Hyderabad: A 17-year-old junior college girl died under suspicious circumstances after coming home from college on Friday. It was reported that she was scolded by her lecturer for being late for university due to menstrual problems.
The girl was a resident of Malkajgiri and was studying in second year intermediate at a government college in Marredpally.
According to the police, the girl was humiliated by a female lecturer who harassed her in the middle of class for arriving late at the university due to menstrual problems.
Marredpally inspector Nomula Venkatesh said the girl fainted after reaching home and was shifted to Gandhi General Hospital, where doctors found her dead. During medical examination, doctors confirmed that he died due to cerebral palsy.
Angered by the girl’s death, family members and students staged a protest at the university, accusing the lecturer of being insensitive. However, the police dispersed the group. No case has been registered yet regarding this incident.
