Blue Angels conducting review after jet flies over Florida beachgoers
Officials with the U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron said they are conducting an investigation after social media images showed a jet flying low over beachgoers in Florida’s Pensacola Beach on Wednesday morning.
“During the arrival manoeuvre, an aircraft flew lower than standard profiles, causing a disturbance on the beach that affected civilian chairs and umbrellas,” the statement said. In the statement, it was stated that this was a “low altitude transition”.
North Florida ABC affiliate TO WEAR reported that the flyover occurred during the “Breakfast with the Blues” event.

“I’ve been coming for 10 years and I’ve never seen rust like this in my life,” Ashley Korn told WEAR. “I really thought we were going to get beat by the Blue Angels, but it was amazing.”

In the statement, Blue Angels said: “The safety of our home team, spectators, and pilots is our top priority. Team leadership is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and conducting a comprehensive safety review to ensure all operations comply with stringent Navy and FAA safety standards.”
