Ranveer Singh film continues its dream run, breaches Rs 1300-crore mark worldwide
While Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar begins to slow down in its sixth week, Dangal will release in theaters as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, behind Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa 2: The Rule. Dhurandhar 2 will release in theaters on March 19.
Dhurandhar crosses Rs 1300 million at the global box office
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, became one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian cinema. The high-octane spy thriller also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, Gauav Gera and Rakesh Bedi in important roles. The film has turned into a social media phenomenon over the last month with roaring response from the audience, viral reels and funny memes filling the timelines. It captured the hearts of audiences with its gripping storytelling, powerful performances, exciting music and excellent casting.
In the first 38 days, Dhurandhar earned a nett of Rs 857 crore in India and grossed Rs 1296 crore worldwide. The film Aditya Dhar has earned Rs 3 crore nett in India on its sixth Monday and 39th day since its release on December 5. Combining gross domestic figures and overseas earnings, Ranveer Singh starrer comfortably crossed the Rs 1,300 crore mark at the global box office. As the spy thriller begins to slow down in its sixth week, it will release as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, behind Dangal (Rs 2070 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1788 crore) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (Rs 1742 crore).
Riding on top of its blockbuster success, Dhurandhar Part 2 is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the festive weekend of Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. The sequel is heading for a high-voltage box office clash with Indian period gangster drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, HumaQureshi and Tara Sutaria. The bold first look of the Getu Mohandas directorial, which was announced on the KGF star’s birthday last week, sent shockwaves through the industry. Bilingual action drama Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap, is also scheduled to release on March 19.
