‘Middle-aged white woman’ shot dead by ICE agent in Minneapolis ‘after she tried to run over officers in act of domestic terrorism’

A woman was shot and killed by ICE in what Homeland Security described as an act of ‘domestic terrorism’; however, local officials dispute the agency’s narrative, with the mayor telling the agency to leave immediately.
DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told the Daily Mail that the 37-year-old woman was shot after she allegedly tried to hit officers with her car “in an attempt to kill” during ICE operations in Minneapolis.
The statement said DHS “used a gun on his vehicle” and described his actions as “an act of domestic terrorism.”
Life-saving aid was given to the woman, but she died from her injuries. Police found the woman with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Police Chief Brian O’Hara.
Senator Tina Smith said the woman was a US citizen. O’Hara said there was nothing to indicate ‘this woman was the target of a law enforcement investigation.’
The woman’s identity was not released by authorities but she was described as a middle-aged white woman. The chief said his wife was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
At a press conference, Mayor Jacob Frey claimed that DHS was trying to ‘distort this as an act of self-defense.’
‘This is nonsense,’ he said. ‘I have a message for our community, our city, and ICE; To ICE, get the hell out of Minneapolis.’
The tragedy unfolded as DHS deployed more than 2,000 ICE officers to Minneapolis as part of its largest operation ‘ever’.

McLaughlin said the ICE agent escalated the situation because he ‘feared for his own life, the lives of his fellow officers, and the safety of the public.’
Describing the gunshots as ‘defensive shots’, the woman said in her statement: ‘He used his training and saved his life and that of his fellow police officers.’
‘Fortunately, the injured ICE officers are expected to make a full recovery.’
The woman’s burgundy SUV appeared to have a bullet hole in the driver’s side windshield. Square 11 reported. After being shot, the woman allegedly hit a lamppost and damaged two cars parked nearby.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said at a press conference that police officers were stranded in the snow due to adverse weather conditions in the city.
‘They were trying to push their vehicle when a woman attacked them and tried to run them over and crash her vehicle,’ he said.
‘One of our officers acted quickly and fired defensively to protect himself and those around him.’
O’Hara said the woman was in her vehicle and was blocking the road. At one point, federal law enforcement approached him and the vehicle began moving.

Secretary Noem said the agents’ vehicle got stuck in the snow and while they were trying to push the vehicle, the woman tried to hit them.
Two shots were fired before the vehicle crashed, O’Hara said at a news conference.
The FBI is investigating the incident because it disputes DHS’s version of events, the chief said.
Governor Tim Walz criticized DHS’s narrative as “propaganda” and asked his citizens to “stay calm.”
“The State will ensure a full, fair and prompt investigation to ensure accountability and justice,” he wrote to X.
‘Don’t believe this propaganda machine.’

Local police also set up metal barriers to separate protesters from federal agents.
More than 1,000 people have been arrested in the area since officers were assigned to the Twin Cities, Noem said.
However, Mayor Frey said the federal agency was only “causing chaos in our city” and demanded that they “leave the city immediately.”
He wrote to X: ‘We stand firm with our immigrant and refugee communities.
He continued his pro-immigration campaign at a press conference on Wednesday, saying: ‘This is a moment where we can all rise to the occasion, in Minneapolis and beyond. We can show them who we are. ‘We will meet this hatred with love.’
He said his constituents are ‘better than a bunch of ICE agents tearing families and communities apart.’
Frey said he was not informed of the woman’s identity.
Minneapolis has become the latest target of the Trump administration in the fight against immigration in the USA.
The FBI took over the investigation. The woman’s identity has not been publicly disclosed, but she is described as a middle-aged white woman.

DHS is investigating Somali communities in Minneapolis following an explosive report by conservative influencer Nick Shirley, who posted a viral video alleging widespread fraud at Somali-run daycares in Minnesota.
Shirley claimed that despite receiving millions in government funding, the facilities were mostly empty.
And earlier this week, DHS blasted the Hilton hotel franchise, canceling reservations for ICE agents.
DHS accused the global chain of ‘siding with murderers and rapists’ as part of a ‘coordinated campaign’ against the deportation in Minneapolis.
‘NO ROOM IN THE HANDE! DHS X account wrote Monday afternoon that Hilton Hotels launched a coordinated campaign to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement in Minneapolis.
‘When officials attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELED their reservations.’
Hilton responded to this, telling Fox: ‘Hilton Hotels serve as welcoming places for all.’
The Lakeville Hampton Inn was ordered to remove all Hilton branding as of Tuesday after headquarters learned a policy banning Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers was still in effect.

“The independent hotel owner assured us that he had resolved this issue and issued a message confirming this,” a Hilton corporate spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday. he said.
But conservative influencer Nick Sorter shared a video late Monday night in which he purported to be a DHS worker looking for a room as he approached hotel staff.
In the footage, the front desk employee said that the hotel did not allow federal officers conducting immigration enforcement to make room reservations.
The worker said that although hotel management firm Everpeak Hospitality had issued a statement hours earlier saying it was committed to ‘accommodating all guests’, it was not aware of any changes to this policy.
‘I just spoke to the owner of the building and he didn’t say there were any changes,’ the employee said.
