Midwife reveals the most shocking behaviors she has seen from new dads when their wives are giving birth

A labor and delivery nurse has shared the things men do in the delivery room that ‘bother’ her – and there’s no shortage of irritation.
Sharing on TikTok under the username @nursekimwellness, Nurse Kim shared the five most important mistakes women in labor see in their partners.
He began his list of the five worst complaints in reverse order.
It started with ‘Number five, actor dad’.
‘This man, just as we enter the hospital, takes the mother’s place, urinates in the cups, gets checked, gets an IV, pokes, draws blood and asks, “How do I connect my Xbox to the TV? Can you help me do this?” ‘ he asks.’
‘You’re going to tell me you’re going to play video games while she’s giving birth?’ he asked in disbelief.
The mother of seven children said, “How about you come and help him and make yourself useful?” he suggested.
Next on the list was the person the nurse called ‘Answer Man’.

‘This man said, when I enter the room and talk to the patient, [he’s] ‘I’m answering,’ Kim said.
‘I’m sorry but I don’t think you’re the one who pulled a baby out of your body, so maybe we’ll let him answer that.
‘I ask how he’s doing, if he wants anything for the pain, if he’s ready for an epidural, what he thinks about this or that, and he answers.
‘This is his body. He is fully capable of answering for himself. “He’s also the one going through this process,” he shared.
Kim then turned his attention to one of the ‘shocking’ habits of new dads – and it’s only going to get worse.
‘These are the dads who say they’re going to go for a walk, go to the car, get some food, and come back high as a kite.
‘You can’t fool anyone,’ he joked. ‘We can see it from a mile away.’
‘We can actually smell it from a mile away because now the whole unit smells like weed and cheap cologne.’

The first thing men should avoid in the delivery room is the father being on the phone all the time.
“It’s like a constantly noisy business meeting,” Kim added harshly.
“If you’re going to be talking loudly on the phone while she’s trying to rest and give birth, maybe you can go into the hallway or go outside,” she said.
Kim then explained what her biggest and most common problem in the delivery room is.
‘Men are the ones who hyper-sexualize everything during the labor and birth process,’ she shared. ‘Disgusting. ‘You give off a creepy guy vibe.’
‘I’m wearing gloves to check for dilation and you’re talking about threesomes. “Or you’re breastfeeding the baby and you’re talking about when it’s your turn,” he continued.
Kim then gave honorable mentions to men who always ate while their partners were giving birth and to men who didn’t kick visitors out so the new mother could rest.
“And of course, I’ll give an honorable mention to the dad who was flirting with the nurse the whole time,” he concluded the video. ‘This is very inappropriate.’
