Migrant manhunt LIVE: New image of Epping sex offender released as search enters third day | UK | News

A man named Sim was transporting equipment to Chelmsford Prison when he spoke to Hadush Kebatu as he was being released on Friday, October 24.

Kebatu approached him and asked: “Where am I going?” The immigrant also said: “I don’t know where I’m going and what I’m doing.”

Sim explained: “He came out of the airlock and was telling the officers there, ‘Where am I going? What am I doing? I don’t know where I’m going and what I’m doing.’

“He was holding a packet of documents and a bag of items in his arms… He knew he was being deported. He came up to me and said, ‘I need you to help me.’ His English was pretty good.”

Kebatu reportedly appeared confused and was “scratching his head.” He kept repeating: “Where will I go, where will I go?”

But a staff member at the prison told him: “Go, you’ve been released, go.”
