Modi Controlled By Certain Industrialists, Says Rahul Gandhi

Begusarai (Bihar): Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he alleged was “controlled” by industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani.

Addressing a rally in Begusarai for Mahagathbandhan candidate and Congress leader Amita Bhushan, Rahul Gandhi once again attacked “Modi’s 56-inch chest” and repeated the claim that Operation Sindoor was suspended following pressure from the US. Here Rahul Gandhi said: “Operation Sindoor took place, Donald Trump’s call came, Modi ji who said she has 56 inch breasts is afraid that Donald Trump will tell her to shut down Sindoor and within two days PM Modi stopped it. The truth is that Narendra Modi is not only afraid of the US president but is also controlled by people like Adani-Ambani.”

“Prime Minister Modi has 56-inch chest, but the truth is that we cannot recognize the courage of a person by his chest size. (Mahatma) Gandhi ji fought against the British, he did not have a big chest but he was not afraid. There are many people who do not have big breasts but are not cowards, but those with 56-inch breasts are also cowards,” the Congress leader said.

“At the time of the ’71 war, the Indian army was fighting against Pakistan. The American Navy came here and the American President (Richard Nixon) threatened the Indian Prime Minister to stop the war, whatever was happening in Bangladesh. Indira Gandhi did not step back, she said let the USA do what it wants, India will do it if we want, and we showed them.”

Continuing his tirade on the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rahul Gandhi lashed out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for saying there was no land to set up industries in Bihar. The Congress leader alleged that this was due to making agreements to “give” land worth Rs 1 crore to industrialist Adani, which did not release land to the state. “A few days ago, Amit Shah said that there is no land in Bihar on which to set up a company. But you can give it to Adani Rs 1 only after stealing it, telling the Prime Minister that they said there is no land. There is land for that, but there is no land for the development of Bihar,” he said. The Congress leader urged voters to vote for the Mahagathbandhan alliance and promised “best education” to the people.

He said that if voted to power, they would establish a university equivalent to Nalanda University and promised to make Bihar a center for international students as well. “Our Mahagathbandhan will come to power in Bihar and we will provide you with the best education. I give you this personal guarantee that the day the INDIA alliance comes to power at the centre, we will open a university as good as Nalanda University. We will open such a university where students from all over the world will come and get admission,” he said.

Jan Suraaj’s entry adds a new dimension to the high-stakes battle in the state as the Begusarai assembly constituency, one of the closely watched constituencies, gears up for a bitterly contested fight between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. Begusarai (Constituency 146), traditionally considered a BJP stronghold and dominated by upper-caste ‘Bhumihaar’ voters, will witness the party’s current MLA and Bhumihaar leader Kundan Kumar seeking re-election. Congress candidate Amita Bhushan, who is also a Bhumihaar face, seems upset with the BJP candidate. Voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, and counting will be held on November 14.
