Miley Cyrus engaged to musician boyfriend Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus confirmed that she is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, with whom she has been together for four years.

The three-time Grammy winner was seen wearing a gold and diamond ring on her engagement finger at the premiere of the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash in Los Angeles on Monday.

In an interview on US TV show Good Morning America on Wednesday, the 33-year-old actress said Morando knelt down to propose during a recent trip to Asia.

“I’m not an easy person to surprise because I like to control every situation and I completely surrendered and I’m telling you, I was very, very surprised,” he said.

Cyrus, who has hits such as Flowers and Party in the USA, was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth in 2018.

The couple had been together for ten years, but announced their divorce In 2019.

To talk British Vogue Cyrus said she and Morando, 27, met in 2023 after being “put on a blind date.”

Morando is the drummer for the Los Angeles-based band Liily. In 2022, the group attended NBC’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, hosted by Cyrus, along with musicians like Cyrus’ godmother Dolly Parton and David Byrne.

Holding her ring up in the air, Cyrus told Good Morning America that Morando “did a good job” with this election.

“Me and Max have been together for four years, and it’s obvious how much growth I’ve made in those four years,” he said.

“You want to have someone by your side who always tells you you can do it.”

The pop star’s latest song, Dream as One, appears in the latest Avatar episode.

He released his ninth album earlier this year but said he had “no desire” to tour and put it off citing how difficult it is to maintain sobriety and mental health while on the road.
