Miley Cyrus gave a nostalgic nod to her Hannah Montana character while attending the show’s 20th Anniversary Special premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.
The 33-year-old actress and singer dazzled in a shiny metallic dress with a Hannah Montana graphic tee underneath as she joined the show’s original cast at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
Disney Channel’s hit teen comedy follows teenager Miley Stewart (Cyrus), who lives a secret double life as famous pop star Hannah Montana while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy as a high school student.
The series, which also stars her real-life father Billy Ray Cyrus, aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2011 and helped launch Cyrus’ music career.
Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the special will premiere on March 24 and air on both Disney+ and Hulu.
The show will feature never-before-seen archival footage, performances of some of the show’s iconic songs, and performances by their parents, Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray.

Her fiancée, 27-year-old Maxx Morando, accompanied her on the red carpet. The musician looked casual in a white T-shirt, black trousers and sneakers.
The star was supported by mum Tish, 58, who showed off her chic midriff in a sheer black blouse paired with a blazer and jeans.
Tish was accompanied by her husband, 56-year-old Dominic Purcell. The Prison Break hunk, who was said to have ‘connected’ with Tish’s 26-year-old daughter Noah before starting his relationship with her mother, opted for a casual look by wearing a black T-shirt, jeans and Converse sneakers.
Multiple family members showed up for her, including Cyrus’ sister Brandi Cyrus, 38, who sizzled in a black leather top and matching pants.
Brandi’s boyfriend, Matt Southcombe, was also in attendance, as was Purcell’s 26-year-old son, Joseph Purcell, whom he shares with ex-wife Rebecca Williamson.

Osment explained his absence in an Instagram post by sharing a video of himself with co-star Montana Jordan on the set of the CBS sitcom Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage.
‘That’s why I couldn’t be a part of the 20-year reunion because we’re here filming our show,’ he said. ‘But I wanted to say hello and thank everyone who has been with us all these years. I’m so grateful that you all still love this show. ‘I’m so proud to be a part of this.’
In the video’s caption, he wrote: ‘Hannah Montana changed my life, gave me a lifelong respect for this medium of comedy, taught me discipline, patience, timing and respect while working in an adult field at such a young age. I’ve met thousands of HM fans over the years, fans who have kids who are currently watching this show, and fans like Montana who literally works alongside me every day. He’s seen every episode, don’t be fooled.’

According to a press release, the special will ‘celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation, exactly two decades after its debut on Disney Channel.’

The interview portion will ‘offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the series and the character have had on fans around the world.’
The special will feature Cyrus revisiting the music and iconic moments from the hit children’s show, and will even bring some of the show’s sets back to life, including Hannah Montana’s closet and the Stewart family’s living room.
Disney also promises fans will be able to watch never-before-seen footage.
Cyrus said of her involvement: ‘Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. ‘What started as a TV show has become a shared experience that has shaped my life and the lives of many fans, and I will always be grateful for that connection.’
‘I’m so proud that even after all these years it still means so much to people. ‘This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking my fans who have been with me for 20 years.’
